Andrew Dickinson (b. 1976)
composer
Andrew Dickinson makes his home in Austin, where he is currently pursuing
a DMA in music composition at the University of Texas at Austin. His
teachers include Donald Grantham, Kevin Puts, and Michael Kurek. Andrew
received his master’s in composition from U. T. in 2001, and has
a bachelor’s degree in composition from the Blair School of Music
at Vanderbilt University. An active composer, Andrew has written works
for diverse ensembles, including chamber orchestra, piano quartet, guitar
quartet, and trombone ensemble, as well as songs and works for various
chamber groups and soloists. For the past two years, Andrew has served
as an undergraduate instructor in music composition at the University
of Texas.
